Meet Amadeus—fondly known as Ammi to his friends—a big-hearted, handsome Akita mix with a love for life and a whole lot of charm. At just 18 months old, Ammi is still discovering the world and learning how wonderful it can be, despite a difficult start. He was found tied up and alone, but you’d never guess it from the way his tail wags when he sees his favourit people.

Ammi is what we like to call a gentle giant. He adores human company—sometimes a little too much!—and is working hard on staying calm when excitement takes over. Thanks to consistent, positive training, he’s already come so far and continues to grow every day. His playful spirit shines brightest when he's rolling around with toys, tossing them in the air just to catch them again. He’s equally happy playing with you or just entertaining himself with his toy collection.

He’s generally a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs, though his enthusiasm can be a bit overwhelming at times. He’s playful, sometimes a bit cheeky. With the right guidance, he’s built a solid group of canine companions here, and he’ll thrive in a home where his new family can help him continue those positive social experiences.

True to his Akita roots, Ammi isn’t a huge fan of handling—unless, of course, it involves snuggles and affection, in which case he’s all in. He’s incredibly clever, has picked up training quickly, and just needs someone patient, experienced with Akitas or similar breeds, and ready to he
